Hi everyone, it’s been awhile! So, so busy making quilts and totes! 🙂 No slowing down this summer with custom orders and purchases from my store. So, if I’m not making a custom order, I’m trying to get more things in my shop. I’m very blessed to get to work from home and sell things that I love making! And I’m considering whether to move my blog to a new venue. It’s a toss up between Etsy’s Pattern or Shopify. So, that’s keeping me busy researching and trying to decide. Oh well, once I do figure it out, I’ll let you all know!
I’ve added some pretty summer quilts. I just love the fabrics I’ve been finding. They are all so beautiful! Here are a few quilts that I’ve finished and added to my shop. If you see something and want a different size, just let me know and I’ll see if I have enough to make one for you. Just click on the picture to see the listing.
And here are some totes that are available. I’m adding fall totes as I get them made, so please check back in the next few weeks.
This fall tote has sold, but I’ll be making some more like it soon!
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer 🙂 Stay safe!
Hi everybody! My thumb is healed and I’m back to sewing. This is just a quick update to let you see what I’ve been working on. These snowflake/star rag quilt trivets are adorable and so much fun to make. I’ve never used osnaburg fabric which is a slightly heavier muslin type fabric. It feels kind of stiff when you are sewing it, but after it’s washed it softens up beautifully. And, oh my goodness, it rags up more than any other fabric I’ve used. The stars are approx. 13″-14″ wide. Nice size for candles or anything you want to put on them. They look pretty on their own to decorate a holiday table, too.
Homespun seems to work really well with the osnaburg. I haven’t tried regular quilt fabric yet. I’d like to be able to offer other fabrics besides homespun, so I’ll be trying some pretty Christmas fabrics soon. But, in the mean time, here are the three homespun stars I’ve made so far. They are available in my etsy shop, ready to ship. But, I can make any color homespun, so if you are interested in a different color just send me a convo and we can talk about a custom order.
I’m so ready for Spring! If you are, too, and are looking for a bright, colorful, fresh look to your home for Spring and Summer, you have to see all the rag quilts I have available for sale in my etsy shop. There are different size lap quilts, twin, full, and queen quilts. If you don’t see anything that interests you, I have listings to “pick your fabrics” or send me a convo and we can talk about a custom order.
I added a couple of new listings to my etsy shop today….two table runners, one aqua and red, and one in a navy blue and red. I have a few custom orders to finish and, then, I’m thinking of making some place mats to go along with the runners. I’ll let you all know when I get some listed.
This weekend is the perfect time to order a quilt or tote from my shop! I’m having a **FLASH SALE**, 15% off almost everything. The only things not included are the Pick your Own Fabric listings or custom orders. I use Etsy on Sale for sales in my etsy shop, so you’ll see the sale price in each listing and the original price in the first picture of each listing. I love Etsy on Sale to set up my shop sales. I put in the information like how long to run the sale, what discount I’m wanting to use, and when I want to start the sale. Then, they bulk edit everything for me! Much nicer than having to go through each listing to change the price. There’s a very minimal charge which is so worth it to me not to have to edit all my listings. If you are a seller on Etsy, it’s truly a time saver!
I hope you find something that you love as much as I love making them. 😀 Now, I better get back to sewing! Next blog post will be all about Christmas decorations! I just need to find time to get some pictures to show you all! Oh yeah, the sale runs through Monday night. A little extra time for you to decide what to order. Have a great weekend!!
My daughter and her husband are coming over for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, so I’ve been busy prepping food and making pies! Tomorrow evening, after dinner, my husband turns on the Christmas lights! We have a display each year with lights that dance to music. People can sit in their cars, listen to the songs on their radio, and watch the lights. 🙂 I hope I can get a video and put it on here, so you all can see some of it. Paul works so hard on it all year long. A lot of people look forward to it every year and let him know how much they enjoy seeing the lights. I hope you can find time during the holiday season to go out and look at the pretty Christmas lights around your neighborhood or in your town. We enjoy ours, but we love to drive around looking at other homes, too. It’s a tradition we’ve always enjoyed.
Okay, after you finish your Thanksgiving meal and are sitting around trying to recoup, jump on your computer and check out my Etsy shop. I’m going to have a Black Friday through Cyber Monday sale. All orders over 50.00 will be able to take 10% off with coupon code, TURKEY2015. Just add the coupon code when you go to your cart to check out. The sale starts now and runs through Monday at midnight CST. Pick Your Own Fabrics listings and Custom Orders not included in sale.
Here’s just a few things to pick from. There’s lots more in my shop!
The last of the fabric for the Christmas quilt came in yesterday. I’ve been sewing like crazy today! Got all the rows together! I just need to stitch around the outer edge and clip the seams. I’m hoping to get pictures by Friday for my customer.
In the mean time, I sold three totes a couple days ago, so I need to find some time soon to make a few more. I’m loving all the busyness of life lately. I’m trying to get up every morning with a set goal for that day. It’s nice to wake up knowing my day is planned out. 😎
Here’s some pictures of quilts that are available in my shop, ready to ship!
A few days ago I had a customer ask about a custom order. She searched on Etsy and found a number of fabrics that she wanted to have made into an extra large Christmas lap quilt. So, I got busy figuring out how much of each fabric I’d need and if each place that I needed to order from would have enough fabric in stock. I was a little concerned about the cost because we have fabric coming from many different sellers including one from Australia and shipping for each was going to add up. But, she loves all the fabrics she picked out and decided to go with them all! 😀 We sent messages back and forth for the better part of the day and I really enjoyed the process of working with her!
I added a new page to my website called “custom orders” and put all her fabrics on the page, so she could see how they would look together instead of a picture here and a picture there. After we got everything figured out, I ordered all the fun fabrics she chose. Two arrived already and the rest should hopefully be here by the end of the week. 🙂 I can’t wait to get started on her quilt! Pictures soon! 🙂
